Peer Review Process
The Journal of Innovation in Governance and Business Practices follows an open peer review process that emphasizes transparency, professional accountability, and industry relevance. In this model, both reviewers and authors are aware of each other’s identities during the review process. This approach encourages responsible evaluation, constructive feedback, and open professional dialogue between contributors and reviewers. As an industry-focused journal, the review process is designed to evaluate manuscripts based on their practical relevance, real-world applicability, and usefulness to organizations, companies, and industry practitioners.
When a manuscript is submitted to the journal, it first undergoes an initial screening by the editorial office. During this stage, the editorial team verifies whether the manuscript aligns with the journal’s focus on governance practices, business operations, industry innovation, organizational management, and professional case studies. The editorial office also checks that the manuscript meets basic submission requirements, including clarity of presentation, completeness of information, and relevance to current industry challenges. Submissions that do not meet these basic requirements or fall outside the scope of the journal may be returned to the authors for revision or declined at this stage.
Once the manuscript passes the initial editorial assessment, it is assigned to a handling editor or editorial board member with relevant industry expertise. The handling editor identifies suitable reviewers who have professional experience related to the subject area of the manuscript. All reviewers and evaluators involved in the review process are industry professionals, such as corporate practitioners, consultants, policy specialists, senior managers, technology experts, and professionals working in governance and business operations. The journal intentionally selects reviewers from industry environments to ensure that the evaluation focuses on practical value and real-world implementation rather than purely theoretical analysis.
Each manuscript is reviewed by at least three independent reviewers. These reviewers carefully evaluate the submission from an industry perspective, considering whether the ideas, frameworks, or case studies presented in the manuscript are relevant to contemporary organizational challenges. Reviewers assess the clarity of the problem being addressed, the practicality of the proposed approach, the relevance of the examples or case studies provided, and the overall usefulness of the article for professionals working in governance and business environments.
During the review process, reviewers provide detailed comments and recommendations. Their feedback may include suggestions for improving the clarity of the discussion, strengthening the explanation of industry practices, or providing additional insights that enhance the practical value of the work. Because the journal follows an open peer review model, authors are aware of the identities of the reviewers, and reviewers are also aware of the identities of the authors. This transparency helps maintain accountability and encourages professional and respectful communication throughout the evaluation process.
Based on the reviewer reports, the handling editor makes a recommendation regarding the manuscript. The manuscript may be accepted for publication, accepted with minor revisions, returned to the authors for major revisions, or declined. When revisions are required, authors are invited to update their manuscript and respond to reviewer comments in detail. The revised manuscript may then be reassessed before a final publication decision is made.
By relying on experienced professionals from industry as reviewers and evaluators, the journal ensures that all published articles provide meaningful insights and practical guidance for organizations, businesses, and policy practitioners. The open peer review system also supports transparency, professional collaboration, and the exchange of real-world knowledge within the governance and business community.
